Kojo and Ebony have been with us well over a year now. Last year they were given a much bigger kennel with its own run but they are really missing their home comforts now. They are twelve years old now and shouldn't be in kennels.
They were handed over to the stray kennels by their owners who had owned them since they were 8 weeks old, they were due to be PTS.
The previous owners were pregnant and decided they could no longer cope with two big dogs as well as a baby. These two are excellent dogs though.
Overnight on 27th March 2008 Kojo passed away. Ebony has now been moved into the feedroom so that she can be around us a lot more. They were inseparable and we don't want Ebony to give up now.
Although we are very sad about the loss of Kojo, it is so dissapointing and upsetting to us that no one ever gave him and Ebony the chance. The older dogs are so often overlooked, Kojo and Ebony have been with us for 1 1/2 years! We knew it would be hard to find them a home and they were quite happy here but it is a crying shame that Kojo didn't find that home in time. We have taken Ebony off rehoming to give her a month and see how she gets on. They had been together since they were both 8 weeks old and pined if they were separated. After nearly twelve years with Kojo we just need to try and help Ebony stay strong.
UPDATE 7/4/08
Ebony is doing surprisingly well and is now back up for rehoming. Ebony is looking for a new home as the only pet and with children over the age of 12 years. Ebony is housetrained and loves her walks and cuddles.
