Herbie is a loveable little crossbreed, aged about 2 years old. He is very friendly with people and so unusual looking that no one will ever have another Herbie! He does need to learn some basic manners but will make a lovely pet.

Poor Herbie has been here since January and a few months ago his health started to deteriorate. He is better now but does need to find a new home as soon as possible because he gets upset with the constant hustle and bustle of kennels life.

MEI - ZEHN (Pictured Above)

Mei is a Traditional Chinese Shar Pei who has had a very bad start. She has been badly abused in the past and is looking for an adult only home with no other pets who can spend some time working to build up her confidence.

Once she knows you she is wonderful, she has a real bond with Freddie and Ruth who have been fostering her for four months now. They are able to handle her like a normal dog now she knows they mean no harm.

STOLEN!

Mei is below knee height, black. Stolen by a woman showing interest in re homing her whilst on a walk on 24th July 2007 and is now in Essex.

Please look out for this dog, she has had an entropian operation and is spayed and micro chipped.

She has behavioural and medical problems and it is vital that Mei is returned to us.

Please ring 01759 371988 or 07921775972 or contact Essex or Humberside police.

Update 31st August 2007

Suspects have failed to attend voluntary questioning and have refused to return Mei. They also sent Ruth a large cheque in return for her to stop police proceedings and let them keep Mei. The cheque was sent to the police. We are still hopeful that Mei will be returned to us and pray for her safety. This has been a horrendous month for us and we are really feeling the strain. We have been assured by the police that everything is being done to get her back. There is a reward for her safe return.

Please keep Mei in your thoughts and prayers.

1st October 2007

The police have now closed the case despite there being witnesses and known suspects who have not been interviewed. They have decided that they will not be taking any action. It is disgraceful and we have been left devastated.

Rexi really is a little darling, he had to be handed over to us by his family who had owned him for 4 years because of health problems within the family. Rexi grew up with the children and loved them very much. He is below knee height and loves cuddles! Rexi is housetrained and working on socialising with other dogs. He can be wary because he has been attacked in the past but we think he will get there. He is now mixing well with Kelly and enjoying the company. Rexi has so much love to give and will make a great family pet or companion. Could you take on this baby boy?

XENA

Xena is a funny little girl! She is very short and pretty as you can see. Xena is about 3 years old. She is a real quirky girl, lookswise and personality wise. She loves attention and is generally a very well behaved dog. She travels well, appears to be housetrained and walks quite well on the lead. She doesnt like other dogs and really would prefer a home without children. She hasn't shown any agression to children but does like a quiet life, from what we have seen we think she would s really easy and lovely companion for a couple or family with teenage children.

Adorable Eric

Eric is a young male crossbreed, medium sized and short coated. He is a very loving chap who seems to like everyone and everything. Eric does need to learn the basics but he would be very grateful for that chance. Eric doesn't really like it in kennels, he loves to be with people.

This sweetheart is Stanley, he was quite poorley in his first couple of months here because he suffers from separation anxiety. This means that he pines when he is left alone. It is caused by the insecurity that we might not come back. This can be solved once he is in a home with the right training. He is great with all people and children, but can be a bit boisterous. He loves playing and running with other dogs and as you can see is just a big baby! Stanley is so funny, he has settled down here now and does not pine when we leave him anymore because he feels safe and know we are coming back. It has taken a few months to achieve this but it is so worth it. Stanley is such a character, when he has finished his dinner he pushes his bowl back out to us. Little Lakeland x Alfie sneaks into Stan's kennelw ith him and Stan thinks it's great, Alfie even steals his bones! Stanley is a gentle giant, he looks tough on the outside but on the inside he is a nervous little baby.

He is definitely a fave with the staff.

Stan the man is a medium sized dog, short coated and was found as a stray in September 2007. He would be suitable for families if the children are over 10 years old.

Also in!

ERIC - Medium sized, short coat x breed. He is a real heinz 57! Eric is looking for a new loving home that can teach him the basics.

OTTO - Gorgeous white x breeds, medium - large, short coated, very friendly with people but too big and strong for children. If you are looking for a stocky dog with a big heart Otto could be the boy for you! He is a real softie and appears to be okay with other dogs.

PENDLE - Male Staffie. Brindle in colour aged 3-4 years old. Pendle has been out with an assesor for the day and met children, dogs and travelled in the car. He took everything in his stride and was very well behaved.

HERBIE - Small x breed male, approx 18 months old, semi housetrained, lovely little dog who has been here a long time now. Herbie does not like cats or other dogs unfortunately.

MILLIE & LILY - Millie and Lily were found dumped on an island between two main roads in Leeds. They are two Staffie X's who are inseparable so will have to as a pair. They are very sweet and eager to please. Lily the younger of the 2 is fine with everything and evryone, Millie is too but doesn't like dogs to come into her space. They would be great for someone who is retired or works from home. Millie is about 5 years old and Lily is about 2 years old.
